The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs are in Denver to take on their divisional rivals, the Denver Broncos. Despite Kansas having the more impressive season so far, the Denver Broncos are still 9.5 point favorites on the spread. Denver has won six out of the last ten games these two have played against each other and they also won their last two match ups late in 2012.
|Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos on November 17, 2013|
|Kansas City Chiefs||+9.5 @ 1.813||4.34||Over 49 @ 1.935|

Concern over Peyton Manning’s ankle meant that the starting line for this game came out at just 8 points. Now that Manning has undergone an MRI and been cleared for play, however, the line has jumped to nearly 10. The only real concern here for Denver is that they’re finally putting their NFL leading offense against the team with the best defense in the league. Kansas City allows their opponents fewer points on average than any other team in the league. The Broncos, on the other hand, score more points on average than any other team in the NFL and also do so by a wide margin. With an average of 41.2 points per game, they outscore the next best team by 12 points per game. Most of the NFL betting community is thinking that their offense will be stifled at least enough to cause them to be unable to cover the spread. Right now just about 35% of the sports bettors are siding with Kansas City winning with the 9.5 point head start.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a big uphill battle when it comes to their offense in this game. Despite the fact that they get outscored by the Broncos by more than 20 points per game on average, they also may be without one of their wide receivers. Dwayne Bowe was arrested on Tuesday and although he hasn’t been having a great season, the possibility of losing any of their offense is troubling. Their best hope is to keep the Broncos offense at bay, but that could be an even greater uphill battle. Luckily for the Chiefs, they are getting a healthy bump on the spread and most NFL bettors feel that 9.5 points is enough to give them a win.
Pinnacle Sports has set the over/under for this game at 49 points. This is one of the lowest totals we’ve seen in recent weeks for a Broncos game, but with the San Diego game being their first under of the season and the Chiefs defense being such a large factor in this game, this is one of the very few games this season where you’d want to consider betting the under on a Denver game. In fact, more than 50% of the NFL betting public is predicting that the total will hit the under.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos Predictions
The experts over at ESPN are almost all on the same page when it comes to their Chiefs vs. Broncos predictions. With the exception of one hold out, the best prognosticators that ESPN has to offer are picking the Broncos to bring this one home on the money line. If you’re looking to take their advice, Pinnacle Sports is offering the Broncos up at odds of 1.26 for an outright win. This means that a wager of $100 on the Denver Broncos could potentially net you a profit of $26.
